Job Description:

The Telecom IP Network Expert role encompasses a wide range of responsibilities including network design strategy, network engineering, implementation, migration planning, service design, proof of concept testing, optimization services, and customer training. The work is remote operated with customers during critical project phases.

The Telecom Level IP Network Architect will be required to work in a consultative manner with vendors, project management, sales support, customer services, and systems engineering to scope and deliver professional service projects, which can include the following responsibilities:

  • Produce HLD/LLD with the best architecture available to support our customer's services
  • Produce network implementation and migration plans
  • Oversee equipment and service configuration
  • Test and Support networks in various stages of deployment
  • Audit and assess customer networks
  • Formulate network management strategies
  • Lead requirements and scoping workshops
  • Produce and review technical statement of work documentation
  • Provide appropriate training and assistance to NGN employees
  • Evaluate customer networks for performance, scalability, and security.
  • Work with internal technical teams and vendor for product placement and feature improvements for reliability, availability, and serviceability.
  • Work closely with vendor to test, design, and plan for deployments of new products and features.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with customer's & "vendor" technical management and teams.
  • Develop and maintain in-depth technical and marketing knowledge of key ZTE product lines.
Qualifications:

Must possess

  • Expert Level Knowledge in IP routing protocols such as BGP, IS-IS, OSPF and RIP and of signaling protocols such as RSVP-TE and LDP.
  • Extensive knowledge of VPLS and QOS standards.
  • Detailed knowledge of Ethernet, ATM, SDH/SONET, Frame Relay, Packet over SDH/SONET, WDM, wireless technologies, Access technologies (DSL, cable, and lease lines), Layer 3 Traffic Engineering and L2 Traffic Management.
  • Experience in Network Management, Operation Support Systems (OSS) and Business Support Systems (BSS) is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.

Required:

  • Four year degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent education.
  • Alcatel-Lucent Service Routing Certification (3RP/SRA).
  • Cisco Certification (CCIP/CCIE), and/or Juniper Certification (JNCIP/JNCIE), or equivalent experience.
  • Masters degree is desired
  • Knowledge of API and SIP PROXY SERVERS
