Frequently Asked Questions

Carrier Termination Inc. (CTI) offer wholesale A-Z termination rates to VoIP service providers. Wholesale rates are billed 6/6 USA and Canada, 60/60 Mexico and 30/6 to most of other destinations. Rates to US48 are NPANXXY based and start with $0.0025. Rates to non-US phone numbers are available in two flavors – Premium and Direct. The Premium plan uses preselected high quality routes, the Direct plan uses high quality interconnected routes to the regional carriers. Standard and Direct rates are updated monthly.

Prequalification is required to be eligible for carrier rate plans.

  1. You must be a VoIP service provider, not an end user. You are responsible for collecting any applicable taxes from your customers and remitting them to the government in your country of business. For example, you are responsible to pay VAT (Europe), USF (USA) or GST/PST (Canada). US companies have to provide us FCC 499 Filer ID number.
  2. We do not accept autodialertraffic, ACD of your traffic must be more than 30 seconds.
  3. Your VoIP equipment must support SIP protocol.
  4. Your VoIP equipment must support g711 and or g729, g723 codecs.
  5. You must bill $1500 per month or accept a “take or pay” arrangement. We are happy to offer an extended ramp period.

Can I request a 1/1 billing increment?

NO. But if you bill $1500 per month or more drop us a mail at support@carriertermination.com.

Why do you have a monthly minimum to qualify for wholesale?

The distinction between retail and wholesale comes down to the amount of resources required to support the product. Retail services, typically characterized by lower volume, lower ticket products require much more support. Wholesale or enterprise services generally quantify more volume but with an equal or often lower level of support required. Therefore we can cut margin substantially.

What payment options are available?

We accept major credit cards (Visa, Master Card, American Express and Discover), Paypal and Electronic Checks for amounts $500 or less. Amounts over $500 can be paid by paper check with a five day clearing period. Or, by bank wire, which will post to your account immediately.

Why do I need to sign an NDA?

The non-disclosure agreement is meant to keep both parties safe. CTI should not be allowed to use your private company information for any purpose externally and we would prefer that you not post privately negotiated terms publicly. Additionally, there are countless unforeseen topics that will arise during discussion and may or may not be appropriate for disclosure.

Why do you use LATA or OCN billing for Domestic US calls and can I get flat rate billing instead?

LATA or OCN billing is the lowest common denominator of billing amongst local operators (OCN’s) in the US. If a small OCN in a rural LATA charges a large ILEC 4c/minute to ingress to its switch then that ILEC is going to charge CTI no less than 4c to reach the same area. If you are offered flat rate billing for domestic termination by a competing carrier then behind the scenes someone is losing money on an acceptable amount of your rural traffic but making it up on the majority of your traffic.
